Cut Willi Axe
While lie was driving ;i peg into the ground with the back of an axe yesterday afternoon, a station-hand on Arawhnna station, Whatatutu, slipped and cut his shoulder on the blade of the axe lie was Mr Michael Robin, aged 19. lie was brought into the Cook Hospital, where his condition this morning was reported to be fairly comfortable. Eggs for Patients The fact that patients in the Cook Hospital were receiving a larger number of eggs than those in almost any other hospital in the Dominion was mentioned by the managing secretary. Mr C. A. Harries, at vosterday’s meeting of the Cook Hospital Board. The statement arose from a reference by Mr 11. 11. Barker to the production of 245 dozen eggs by the poultry (lock at the Memorial Home during ,January. Mr Barker wondered how the production compared with the number of birds kept in the Hock. In reply. Mr 11. Cooper explained that the production was relatively low tit present, but should improve as the young pullets began to lay.
