MAHAKI TEAM’S WIN

WAERENGA-A-HIKA TENNIS (Herald Correspondent.) On Saturday the Mahaki tennis team visted the Waerenga-a-hika courts for an inter-club match, which it won. Luncheon and afternoon tea were served informally by the ladies. In the following results Waerenga-a-hika players are shown first in each case:— Mixed Doubles. —Talbot and Mrs. Tuhoe lost to P. Kaua and Mrs. Baker, 2 —9; Pardoe and Mrs. Vickers d. M. Baker and Miss Edwards, 9 —4; Happi and Mrs. Happi lost to K. Pere and Miss Pohatu, 7—9; Greig and Miss Leslie lost to Baker and Miss Edwards, 6 —9; King and Miss Cowan lost to Edwards and Miss Horsfall, 3—9; Healey and Miss Nickerson lost to Ruru and Mrs. Pere, 2 —9: Forshaw and Miss Williams d. Shaw and Miss Edwards, 9 —4: Davies and Miss Atkins d. B. Pere and Miss Tamatea, 9—6. Men’s Doubles. —Talbot and Pardoe d. Baker and Pere, 10 —8; Happi and Greig d. Baker and Edwards. 9—5: Forshaw and King lost to Ruru and Shaw, 6—9.

Women’s Doubles. —Mesdames Tuhoe and Vickers d. Mesdames Baker and Pohatu, 9 —6; Mrs. Happi and Miss Leslie lost to Misses Edwards and Horsfall, 5—9; Misses Cowan and Nickerson, lost to Mesdames Pere and Edwards, B—9;8 —9; Misses Williams and Atkins lost to Mrs. Edwards and Miss Tamatea, B—9.8 —9. Men’s Singles.—Talbot lost to Kaua, 5 —7; Pardee lost to Baker, 2—6; Greig lost to Baker. 2—6; King lost to Edwards, 7 —9; Forshaw lost to Ruru, B—9;8 —9; Healy lost to Shaw, 6—9; Davies d.
