WIND UP TO 68 M.P.H.

WELLINGTON NORTHERLY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. On the first day of the closing of Rongotai as a commercial aerodrome it was unusable in any case. A 60 miles an hour northerly wind yesterday made flying from it unsafe, so that not even club aircraft could use it. Paraparaumu was not affected. The Kelburn Observatory this morning recorded three gusts of wind of over 60 miles an hour and one of 68 miles an hour.
