SOVIET FREAK CLAIM

NAZI ASSISTS IN AUSTRIA NO LIABILITIES WANTED (10 a.m.) VIENNA, Sept. 29. Russia made an unbelievable claim in her definition of German assets to be distributed under the Austrian treaty, said the Foreign Minister, Dr. Karl Gruber, at the People’s Party Conference. The Soviet had claimed all the German assets and the products of those assets without their liabilities. Such an unbelievable claim could be realised only if a barbed wire fence were erected around each factory. The claim would lead to a situation in which the frontiers between Austria and the Soviet would be undetectable. Austria had no interests in such a treaty.
