FALL IN EXPORTS

LONDON, Sept. 19. The Board of-Trade has announced that the value of Britain’s exports for August—at £93,600,000—was £16,700,000 below the value for July exports.

Imports for August totalling £174,000,000 were £5,200,000 below the July figures. The adverse monthly trade balance increased from £64,700,000 to £76,800,000. The fall in exports which occurred was almost entirely in manufactured goods and was due to the general effects of the holiday season.
