JUNIOR RUGBY REPS WIN FOR TOKOMARU MATCH AT RUATORIA (Herald Correspondent.) In a fast, open and willing _ contest the Tokomaru Bay representatives defeated the Ruatoria fifteen by 11 points to nil in a junior Rugby representative match held as a curtain-raiser to the East Coast-Poverty Bay game at Ruatoria on Saturday. The teams were:— Ruatoria (Black). —Backs: K. Williams, Whanaki, H. Hogan, K. Terauna, J. Apmvai, Wharaki, Tom Reedy. Forwards: W. Walker, K. Awatere, C. Williams, Mead, J. Tikitiki, K. Waihi, Rowley Weston. Tokomaru Bay (Green).—Backs: S. Kopu, Grey, Walker, Hadfield, Te Kira, Forrester, Chaffey. Forwards: Stevens, Tamepo, Forrester, Williams, Doak, Te Kira, Davidson, Kennedy. The first try came early in the first half. Ruatoria were hard pressed. From a scrum Ruatoria hooked but it was knocked oil and was snapped up, Walker, the Tokomaru centre scoring wide out. From a line-out 12yds. from the goal-line Stevens barged through to score five yards from the post. S. Kopu converted.
In the second spell. Black rallied for a while, but were finally driven back. Walker scored his second try well out. from the posts, from a passing rush by the backs.
In this spell K. Terauna on the left wing for Ruatoria was injured and replaced by M. Reedy. Mead, Ruatoria forward, was also "taken off injured just before the final whistle. The referee was Mr. L. Goldsmith.
