TIKITIKI OUTSTANDING MORE FOOD FOR BRITAIN East Coast townships, in proportion to their size, have contributed a great deal in the way of coupons in the food-for-Britain appeal, and of these Tikitiki has been outstanding. Last week the residents of this small township contributed 3893 meat coupons, and from July 4 to September 13 51,541 meat coupons, or £644 5s in equivalent cash value, have been received by the postmaster at Tikitiki. Over the whole of the Gisborne disrict 187 butter coupons, equivalent to 9311 b. of butter, and 8096 meat coupons, or" £lOl 4s in cash value, were handed m 'The silent street appeal in the business area last Friday produced three butter and 606 meat coupons. Offices where large numbers of coupons were surrendered were Matawai, Motu, Te Araroa and Tokomaru Bay. The fat collected totalled 491 b.
