MR. ADAM WILSON DIES
LONG BANK SERVICE FORMER GISBORNE POST The death occurred in Napier yesterday of Mr. Adam Wilson, formerly well-known in Gisborne as manager of the branch of the Bank of New Zealand here, an appointment which he held at the date of his retirement from the bank's service in 1939. Mr. Wilson had not been in good health recently, and news of his death will not come as a shock to his many friends in this district who had kept in touch with him. , He was 45 years in the service of the Bank of New Zealand, which he joined at Thames, later proceeding to the Palmerston North branch and thence to Paeroa. He returned to the Thames branch eventually ns manager, and in 1929 lie was appointed manager at Gisborne. He held the local -appointment for 10 years prior to his retirement. lie was a keen and active member of the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce and the Gisborne Rotary Club, and also was prominent in sporting circles. Mr. Wilson is survived by Mrs. Wilson, and one son, Mr. Don Wilson, who is on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand’s Napier branch.
