BRITISH AVIATION WARNING TO AMERICANS WASHINGTON, Jan. 29. Senator Brewster, (Republican, Maine) interviewed declared that he believed British aviation leaders planned to “sweep the skies as they swept the seas in the past,"’ which was the reason for the Senate air-safety investigation he is leading. He hopes to assemble all possible safety data for United States airlines. “The British eypect to have a jet turbine airliner ready within five years he declared. He said that Mr. Glen Martin, the large United States aircraft manufacturer, told him that the British experts were now 18 months ahead of America in that field, whereas a year or two ago “the British were worried about the Americans."
