NIUAFOO EVACUATION
ENGAGMENT OF MATUA (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. The evacuation of 1306 inhabitants of Niuafoo Island to Nukualofa, which was postponed following the partial devastation of the island by a violent volcanic eruption, will be made by the motorship Matua in a fortnight’s time. The Matua is leaving Auckland today for Suva.
