FIGHT IN SYDNEY

MURPHY_SOUGHT ATTRACTIVE OFFER BOUTS ALREADY PLANNED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 3. Authority to negotiate) for a trip to Australia by Eos .Murphy under contract to fight for Stadiums, Limited, has been received by Walter Miller', the well-known wrestling manager, who immediately discussed the matter with Mr. 1\ Galvin, Murphy’s manager. “"We have certainly had a very attractive offer,” said Mr. Galvin. “It is so attractive that we have asked Mr. Miller to obtain further details. Murphy may go to Australia fairly shortly, probably within two or three months, and meet three welterweights, and wo think the third of them should be Tommy Burns, who was recently beaten liv Patrick. “We don’t want to go to Australia without knowing our programme in advance. However, the offer looks good enough to bo responsible for keeping Murphy in the game a while longer. Wo feel that ho should have an opportunity to gain further experience and toughen tip before meeting, for example, a southpaw as tough as Patrick. ‘‘We are confident that when Murphy does meet Patrick again he will substantiate Mr. Stewart’s verdict.”

Mr. Galvin added that he recognised that Mr. Miller had full authority to negotiate on behalf of Stadiums, Limited and he would conduct all business with him.
