ALL V.C/S INVITED CONTINGENT LEADER GENERAL PUTTICK LIKELY (P.A.) WELLINGTON. April 13. All the V.C.’s of this war have been invited to participate in the victory parade in London, and one V.C. of the last war who also had a distinguished career in the war just ended, will have the distinction of having participated in three parades of a somewhat similar nature. Colonel L. W. Andrews, V.C., Area Five commander, who is one of ihosu selected for the trip, commanded a company ot New Zealanders in the great victory parade in London in 1911). In the Coronation Day parade he was a staff officer and second in command, the parade on that occasion being led by Major-General N. W. McD. Weir, now Chief of the General Staff. Decorated men are to play a big part in the parade. The Central Military District's quota is 43, and of these 33 wear one or more decorations, or have been mentioned in dispatches. WAAC personnel from all parts of New Zealand will not assemble at Trentham. but will march in to the WAAC camp at Fort Dorset on Monday The nurses, however, will assemble at Trentham with the rest of the Army section of the contingent. The officer who will command the contingent has not yet been announced, but the indications point to the selection of Lieutenant-General Sir Edward Puttick, who recently retired from the position of Chief of Staff, and who has a distinguished active service record. _______________
