ALLIED COMMISSION ALL PRECAUTIONS TAKEN JERUSALEM. March 3. A series of combined police and military searches were carried out m ihe heart of the Holy City to-day under the eyes of crowds of Sunday morning strollers. A number of suspected terrorists were detained after more than 50 persons had been questioned. Meanwhile, with the Anglo-Ameri-can Inquiry Commission expected in a few days, additional security measures are being taken. Brick pill-boxes heavily reinforced with steel and concrete have been erected near the Post Office and additional barbed wire barricades have been erected outside the King David Hotel, where the members of liie Commission will stay and which is British Army Headquarters.
