VICTORY CELEBRATIONS

SPECTACLE FOR LONDON WEEK’S SHOW IN JUNE LONDON, Feb. 3. Britain will hold victory celebrations on June 8, says the Sunday Dispatch. The victory parade will give London its greatest spectacle since September, 19, 1919, when victory in the 1914-18 war was celebrated. It is planned that the procession will pass through bomb-scarred, befiagged streets headed by the chiefs of all the Allied land, sea and air forces and leaders of resistance movements from the countries in liberated Europe.

Every phase of Britain’s war effort will be represented. The Royal Air Force will stage a spectacular fly-past at night. Historic buildings will be floodlit and hundreds of searchlights will illuminate the sky. The display is expected to continue for a week.
