WOOL AGREEMENT
BRITAIN AND CANADA RESTRICTIONS LIFTED (9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18. Restrictions on trading in woollen yarns between Britain and Canada are to be lifted on March 1, after which purchases by Canadian private importers will be allowed, says the Daily Telegraph. An agreement between the Board of Trade Wool Control and the Canadian Government is announced. _ ending the system whereby all Canadian woollen yarns imports from Britain have been supplied through the Bradford office of the Canadian Wool Supply Department. United Kingdom exporters will be permitted to offer woollen yarns direct to Canadian private consumers within the limits of the exporters’ ration from the June quarter and subsequent periods. The quantities of various grades which may be exported' will be regulated not to interfere with supplies for the home market. Such exports under license may be sent to any market in the world in which payment arrangements are in force.
