WESTFIELD MARKET (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. Smaller yardings for beef and sheep, witii improved values, were noted at the Westfield stock sale yesterday. Beef.—The yarding of beef was a littU smaller than usual and values for all improved on late quotations as a result ot the new schedule of increased rates now in operation. Extra heavy prime steers sold from £l9 to £2l 7s 6d. heavy £l7 17s to £l3 17s fid, medium £l6 to £l7 i2s fid, light. £l4 to £ls 17s fid, small and unfinished £lO to £l3 1,75; extra heavy prime cows and heifers, £l3 10s to £l4 17s fid. heavy £l2 to £l3 7s fil, medium £9 17s fid to £ll las, light is to £9 15s, small and unfinished £5 to £7 17s fid. Sheep.—These - were penned in smaller numbers than last week and, as in the case of beef, the values improved, the classes being better than a week ago. Extra heavy prime wethers, shorn, realised from £1 15s 3d to £1 16s, heavy £1 I4s to £1 17s, medium £1 12s 9d to £1 13s 9d. light £1 10s to £1 12s fid, plain and unfinished £1 7s to £1 Sts 9d; extra heavy prime young and maiden ewes, £1 3s to £1 7s, heavy £1 is to £1 2s fid, medium to £1 0s fid, light 14s to 17s, just killable lls to 13s 9d, others 7s to 10s, Lambs.—Spring lambs were yarded in average numbers and sold readily at late quotations. Henry spring lambs changed hands at from £1 J3s to £1 17s; medium, £1 9s to £1 12s fid; light, £1 5s to £1 Ss fid; others, £1 to £1 4s. Calves. —A small yarding of calves came forward. Bidding was very keen for nil classes, values being fully firm on late quotations. Runners sold from £7 to £ll 2s fid; heavy venters £7 10s to £9. medium £0 to £6 ss, light. £5 to £5 15s, small £1 5s o £4 15s, unfinished and bucket-fed £1 Is ,o £2 ss; hobby and rough, 5h to £l. Pigs.—The yarding of fat pigs was of first quality. With competition keen a small yarding of stores sold at. late rates. Choppers made from £3 to £4: heavy prime bnconers, £5 4s to £5 12s, medium £4 10s to £5 2s, light £4 to £4 9s; heavy porkers, £3 12s to £3 ISs, medium £3 7s to £3 lls; stores, £2 10s to £3 ss; slips, £2 to £2 9s; weaners, to ,£t 12s; sows, in pig, £5.
