It is officially announced that the King lias approved the award of the Distinguished Service Cross to Temporary Sub-Lictonant (A) Francis Beiilick i letter, R.N.Z.N.V.R.. for good service in the bombardment ol Sabang on July 25 last. Sub-Lieutenant Hotter was born in Wellington in November, 1919, and joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as a naval airman, second class, for “hostilities only,” in February, 1942. and after undergoing training overseas with the Royal Navy was promoted to temporary acting sub-lieu-tenant (Ai in May, 1943. His civil occupation was farming. His next-of-kin is his father, Mr. 11. E. Hcflfor, Waikanae.
