DRAFT FOR GISBORNE
ARRIVAL THIS EVENING Gisborne members of the returned N.Z.E.F. draft will reach their homes 10-night by the express train, arriving at approximately 11.5 o’clock. The draft will comprise about 30 men, xnaking allowance for those who intend to break their rail journey, at intermediate points, and the reception arrangements will be in the hands of the Army Department, with the cooperation of the Railways Department’s staff. The public will not be excluded from the station platform, but will be asked to refrain from crowding up to the train as it draws into the station. Next-of-kin and close relatives of the returning men naturally will wish to have immediate access to the soldiers, and it is expected that other members of the public will respect their wishes in this matter.
