Changes in U.K. Commands

The Army Council has decided upon the reorganisation of the commands in Britain. Among the changes determined upon is the merging ol the Eastern Command and the Southeastern Command into one command, designated the Eastern Command. The new command will be under Lieut-General Sir Alan Cunningham, who succeeds Lieut.-General Sir Kenneth Anderson. who has been appointed to East Africa. The Southeastern Command was originally created under the imminent threat of invasion of the United Kingdom.
