Railway Officials’ Visit

The assistant general manager of the New Zealand Railways, Mr. A. R. Reisop, accompanied by Mr. A. F. McAulay, chief accountant at head office, Mr. W. Pocknall, assistant district traffic manager at Auckland, and Mr. K. Wallace,. commercial agent, Auckland, have been making a tour of the Bay of Plenty and East Coast districts. and left yesterday for the south. Their visit is understood to have no connection with the recent request by the Bay of Plenty member, Mr. W. Sullivan, for a survey of the commercial possibilities of a railway extension connecting Opotiki and Motuhora with the present northern railhead at Taneatua.
