ENGAGEMENT RINGS
AUSTRALIAN BAN (2 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 15. The Minister of War Organisation of Industry, Mr. J. J. Dedman, has not been impressed by .the legal argument that the ban on the manufacture of engagement rings constitutes restraint against marriage. “If doing without engagement rings is all the sacrifice Australians will have to make in this war we shall be very lucky people,” lie said.
