STATE PURCHASE URGED FIXED PRICE FOR WAR (9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 14. Agriculture Department and War Production Board officials conferred to-day on a proposal that the Government should purchase all domestic wool for the duration of the war, which had been urged by representative wool growers and woollen manufacturers. The growers declared that uuosc they are assured of a market for their wools for the duration of the war at a satisfactory price level, they will, be forced to slaughter larger numbers of lambs next fall in order tfS cut down winter feeding costs. The Agricultural Department desires. an outright purchase programme, but the War Production Board is reported to favour loans to stabilise wool and mohair prices.
