The theft of £I3OO from a Siafe of,Si Concord furniture manufacturer -.is believed to have been the work of schoolchildren. * f,, Banknotes to the value of more than £IOO were found scattered about the office and an unknown quantity had been burned. Detectives discovered a toy pistol in the office. Other stolen money was found in the street nearby. The manufacturer left £3OO in an unlocked safe. When he told' his wife of the theft he was informed that she had placed an additional £IOOO in the safe.
