RETURN TO BURMA
BRITISH PREPARING “WIN SECOND ROUND” (British Official Wireless.) (10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, July 14. The Governor of Burma, Sir Reginald Dorman-Smiih, speaking in London, insisted that the great majority of the Burmese were loyal, and although the British had been defeated in the recent campaign they were going back to Burma. “Japan won the first round of this fight. We are getting ready to climb back into the ring. We think we will win this second round,” said Sir Reginald. “Burma is of terrific importance, if we are going to keep China supplied with arms and ammunition. Burma should be a great operational base for an attack against the Japanese.”
