PACIFIC COMMAND N.Z. IMPORTANT CENTRE (P.A.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, in an address at Kaitaia, said that an early statement from Washington may be expected publicly clarifying the position of General MacArthur and his command in the whole of the Pacific area. “Actually,” he added, “no confusion exists. The whole matter of the Pacific Command has been settled and New Zealand is an important centre for the democratic forces.”
