EXEMPTION FROM ORDER MOBILISATION OF FORCES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. It was officially ascertained that where men engaged in essential industries are called up under the mobilisation scheme for January 10, it will be necessary to make appeals to the local man-power committees. This should not be done unless an employee is essential to the continuation of an industry as defence requirements are of increasing importance. The man-power committees have been instructed to work all the necessary hours to facilitate an investigation of appeals and give decisions before the date of mobilisation i! possible. If that cannot be done in all cases, the Army and National Service Department will, in conjunction, consider special cases and advise that the employee concerned should remain in industry or enter camp, pending a decision of the man-power committee which will be final..
