INTER-CLUB TENNIS

KIA ORA BEAT PATUTAHI t (Herald Correspondent.) Last week-end the Kia Ora Tennis Club started the first of a series of inter-club tennis tournaments, the visitors being tho Patutahi club, represented by 20 members. The final score was 28 —12 in favour of tho home club. On behalf of the visitors, Mr. 0. Stubbings expressed pleasure at tho pleasant afternoon’s play, while Mr. L. WIN BY KOPUAWHARA (Herald Correspondent.) Answering a challenge for the Shortt Cup, the holders, the Rakaipaka Tennis Club, Nuhaka, on Saturday played on the M.I.A. courts, Nuhaka, the visiting challengers ot the Kopuawhara Tennis Club.. Sixteen players took part in the match, eight a-side. Some of the sets were closely contested, and some good play witnessed. The visiting team, having won by nine sets to seven sets, was handed the Shortt Cup by the Rakaipaka club captain, Mr. P. Te Ngaio, and received by Mr. H.
