PIGEON FLYING

RACE FROM NAPIER A single up race from Napier, an airline distance of 84 miles, was conducted last week-end by the Poverty Bay Homing Pigeon Society. Severe head winds were encountered by the birds and consequently times were fairly slow. Results were:—C. Waldock’s Redwing, 920.7yds per min., :l ; M. Royd’s Timekeeper, 891.7yd5. per min., 2; T.
