RECRUITS SOUGHT
MILITARY RESERVE EXPANSION OF UNITS 10 DAYS CAMP TRAINING (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The serious development of the war situation in the Pacific has brought into prominence the necessity for a further immediate expansion of the National Military Reserve, states the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. “As most of its members 'are experienced soldiers, it scarcely seems necessary to say that I have the utmost confidence in their response,” the Minister said. “In the reorganisation of the National Military Reserve, a number of entirely new battalions are being formed, while some of the existing independent companies will be expanded to battalions. The additional personnel required is to be recruited immediately on a voluntary basis from men aged 45 to 55. It will not be restricted to ex-servicemen as formerly. Camp training will be instituted in the form of a 10-day camps for units.
