“FIFTH COLUMN” AID
PHILIPPINES ATTACK (Reed. Dec. 10, 10 a.m.) MANILA. Dec. 9. Japanese troops are reported to have landed at Lubang Island, near the entrance to Manila Bay, aided by Japanese fishermen forming a “fifth column.” This is stated to be part of the general Japanese offensive, including the day's air raids.
