HOME GUARD PETROL

PROVISION RESTORED MINISTER'S STATEMENT (Per Press Association.) NEW FLYMOUTH, this day. Petrol will be available for Home Guard Parades as in the past. Following the advice last week that petrol was no longer available for Home Guard members, the Mayor of Stratford, Mr. P. Thomson, telegraphed a protest to the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, and io-day received the following reply: “Some misunderstanding seems to have arisen in regard to supplies of petrol for Home Guard parades. I understand, however, that instructions have been given for the practice formerly in operation to continue.”
