SIX FROM GISBORNE

VOLUNTARY AIDS Six Gisborne women received notice yesterday that they had been selected for overseas service in association with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The six are Misses M. Johnstone, B. Walker, A. Lane, M. Ferguson, M Simpson, and S. Williams. It is expected that they will be called up shortly and will be attached with 200 others from all parts of New Zealand to the New Zealand Women’s War Service Auxiliary (Overseas Hospital Division), under control of the Matron-in-Chief, Army Nursing Service. All those selected have completed their V.A.D. training, the first five mentioned as members of the Order of St. John and Miss Williams as a member of the New Zealand Red Cross Society and all hold the certi,ficates of one of these organisations. They have completed at least 60 hours of hospital experience.
