EVENING COMPETITION CONTESTANTS IN FORM Performances recorded at the first meeting of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harriers’ Club, held last evening on the Childers Itoad Reserve, indicate that contestants are finding their form early in the season. Miss E. O’Connell, from scratch, ran 50yds in lijjsec., less than a second more than H. Duckworth's winning time in the senior men’s event, from a handicap of 3yds. G. Cassia from a short handicap ran 50yds, in fisec. fiat to win the junior event; and Joyce Torrie won the ladies’ broad jump witli a nett distance of 15ft. L. Grey, centre champion. won the broud and high jumps for senior men, with jumps of Kilt. Bin. and sft. i)Jin. respectively. Detailed results were as under: —•
