ITCH FOR ACTION

NAVAL GUNNERS BATTERING AXIS BASES SUPPORT LIBYAN DRIVE (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 22, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 21. British battleships, strong squadrons of cruisers and destroyers, and American-built fighter planes are of! the coast of Libya to-day ready to throw their full strength behind the British Army’s offensive, says the representative of the Associated Press of Great Britain with the Mediterranean Fleet. With two hubs of the Axis resistance at Solium and Halfaya severely pounded in two nights’ bombardments, the fleet awaited fresh orders to dash inshore and smash tough spots which might hold up the army's drive. The battleship gunners ache for a chance ol' action, but the cruisers and destroyers at present head the bombardment squad and have already succeeded in destroying large quantities of the enemy supplies on the lines of communication.
