LONG-RANGE GUNS
MANY NAZI BATTERIES DUNKIRK TO CALAIS PART IN INVASION (Reed. Nov. 22, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 20. The Lisbon correspondent of the Daily Express says that the Germans are reported to have installed longrange guns every 90 yards between Calais and Dunkirk. These are intended for more serious work than the j resent nuisance shelling, and probably v.'ill play an important part in the attempted invasion. A few thus far have been used in intermittent shelling which usually means they are testing a newly-installed gun. An engineer employed on the com struction of the Seigfried Line is reported to have told a friend that the Royal Air Force’s damage to gun emDlacements is considerable but is insufficient. When the time arrives there will be enough guns to blast Britain’s south-eastern corner and prepare the way for landing troops.
