DETERIORATED LANDS
USE FOR SETTLEMENT COMMITTEE’S INQUIRY (Special to the Herald.) WELLINGTON, this day. An investigation of the settlement possibilities of New Zealand’s marginal or deteriorated lands was commenced by the Parliamentary select committee at a sitting at Ohakune on Thursday. The committee intends tb visit the remainder of the King Country and then proceed to North Auckland, returning via East Coast. Its South Island sittings take place in the New Year.
