GIFTS TO HOME GUARD

REBEKAH LODGE Correspondence from the Home Guard expressing thanks for gifts of bandages and slings received by theis : from the lodge was read at a recent meeting of the Gisborne’ Rebekah Lodge No. 8. A letter also was received from the Lord Mayor of London informing the lodge of the safe arrival of the blankets they had sent to London and thanking them for the gift. The secretary reported on the war work of the 1 lodge and stated that 45 parcels had been posted overseas to date. The meeting was presided over by the N.G., Sister Traue, who asked all members to stand in silence as a vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr. H. J. H. Bendle, a member of the lodge. Several members were reported sick. The next meeting, which will be held at the residence of Sister Sutton, will be ah initiation night, there being several candidates waiting to join.
