GERMAN AIR RAID FIVE PLANES DOWNED (Reed. Aug. 12, 9 a.m.) MOSCOW, Aug. 11. The Luftwaffe attempted a mass raid on Moscow on Sunday night. Antiaircraft units and night fighters dispersed the raiders. Single planes dropped incendiary and high-explosive bombs, setting fire to houses. Several people were killed and others injured. Military objectives were not damaged. At least five of the raiders were brought down.
