EX-SOLDIERS PLEASED

CONTROL OF OBJECTORS MILITARY SERVICE (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The executive of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association decided to congratulate Mr. A. T. Donnelly, on his appointment as a tribunal member under the new regulations for dealing with conscientious objectors. "A very wise choice,” said the president, Mr. D. W. Russell. The executive, having received a letter from the general secretary of New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association answering representations made by the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association on the urgency for steps to be taken to deal with objections, it was pointed out by the secretary, Mr. E. F. Willcox, that the new regulations put new light on the position. Mr. H. W. Wilkinson asid he was gratified that the Government had decided to take action.
