MOTORIST FINED £SO

INTOXICATION ADMITTED (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A boilermaker, William Nelson Thompson, whose car collided with a tramcar in Queen street last night, admitted having been intoxicated while in charge of a car when he appeared in the Police Court to-day. The magistrate, Mr. F. K, Hunt, imposed a fine of £SO, remarking: “I was going to increase the fines, but as he is a wage earner I will treat him the same as the others who came before me this week. His license will be cancelled for 12 months.”
