SHOTS FIRED

.INTRUDERS AT GARAGE HURRIED DEPARTURE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Awakened in the early hours of tee morning by the noise of breaking glass, Mr. H. P. Lees, who sleeps above Lees Bros.’ garage, Papakura. descended the stairs and saw two men seated in a motor car. They ran away, Mr. Lees firing a shot into the ground when they refused to stop. Mr. Lees saw two others leaving the garage, and when challenged tivy jumped into a car ana drove in tee direction of Auckland. Mr. Lees fired another shot, apparently puncturing one of the rear tyres. All police stations were notified and a police car dispatched from _,Aucicland. It chased a car near Green Lane and the police caught two youths, who will appear in the Children’s Court. The other two suspects have not yet been caught. Glass panes in the front double doors of the garage were broken.
