TENNIS MATCH CONDUCT APOLOGY ACCEPTED (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The conduct of A. D. Brown in the final of the mixed doubles at the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s Easter tournament was considered a‘ a meeting of the association’s management committee last evening. It was decided to write to Browr censuring his conduct. A letter oi apology from Brown was discussed lotsome time in committee and the following motion was passed and reported in open meeting: “That his letter be received and his apology accepted, and that he be informed lhal the comm it tec takes a serious view of his behaviour and that any repetition of such conduct will not be countenanced. As a leading player, the committee looks to him to set an example to the younger players.” The question first came before the committee on April 1, when, after a letter from the umpire controlling the match had been read and a discussion had been held in committee, the committee decided to ask Brown to comment on the statements concerning his ■conduct in the mixed doubles final at the Easter tournament.
