MILITARY BANDS
FOUR FOR OVERSEAS THREE IN DOMINION INSTRUMENTS PURCHASED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. It has been announced by Captain R. 11. Nimrno that through the assistance of the National Patriotic Fund Botird, sufficient band instruments have been acquired to supply all the requirements of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in accordance with the establishment laid down. As a result of conferences with Major-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., commander of the Second New Zealand Exoeditionary Force, it has been decided that ihe establishment of seven bands would be set up. Three will remain permanently in camp in New Zealand and four will proceed overseas, being one for each brigade and one lor divisional troops, such as artillery, machine-gun corps and all other units of a division.
Generally speaking the instruments have been purchased somewhere m the vicinity of G 5 per cent less than the original cost price.
