SCHOOL EXPERIMENT
VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROBATIONARY SYSTEM (Special lo I In* Herald.) NAPIER, this day. The results of an experiment cr;alucted at the Napier Intermediate School in regard to vocational guidance were contained in a report placed before the Hawke’s Bar Education Board yesterday from the i headmaster. Mr F. R. Slevin. In several cases where pupils < f the school had been placed :n positions in a probationary system the tnipil had been so adept at the particular work that he or -he had been retained by the employer. The experiment had been conducted with the assistance of Mr. 11. Dyson, placemen.* officer at Napier. “The report has removed most of the objections made bv the ’ ah-m-Dcpartmcn’." •arr! the .ecrrtarv. Mr. W. L. Dunn. "The two main pom's are undercutting of wages .and compensation in ease of Occident*. The department agrees that the experiment is a vwv fine thing if the objections could-be overcome."
