Oct. 21, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 20. e A high authority lias revealed that - ; the casualties in the destroyer a Mohawk, during Monday's raid on the Firth of Forth by German planes 1 were due to a bomb which was a . “near miss.” Apparently the position i of the attacking plane in relation to the sun confused the personnel of tile Mohawk who were uncertain whether the machine was a friend 1 ' or an enemy. The bomb also led them to believe that they were being machine-gunned as actually reported : by one evc-witness. ' It is stated that the navy learned I most valuable 'essotis from the Forth raid and these are being .studied al ~ i present.
