KING AND PRESIDENT

GOODWILL MESSAGES CAUSE OF PEACE (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 11.50 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 20. An exchange of telegrams relating to the agreement with Turkey has been made between the King and the President of Turkey, General Inonu. The King, in reply co the President's message, said: “There could be no better proof than this treaty affords of Ihe desire of the three countries to work in common accord for the advancement of the cause of peace and goodwill among nations, and it fittingly crowns the cordial friendship and mutual esteem which have so steadily inspired the relations between our countries. I warmly reciprocate your assurances of friendship and send you

my best wishes for the health, happiness and prosperity of the Turkish Republic.”
