ROYAL LIFE-SAVING

GISBORNE BRANCH MEETS DECISION TO CARRY ON After considering the effect of the war on the work being done by the Gisborne branch of the Royal LifeSaving Society, a decision was made on Thursday afternoon at the annual meeting of the branch to carry on and give the younger people an opportunity to learn to swim. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the chairman, Dr. A. L. Singer, congratulated the branch on the services rendered during the year and on its solid financial position. The election of officers resulted:— President, Dr. A. L. Singer; vice- 1 president, Mr. E. L. Adams; hon. secretary, Mr, T. S. Wauchop: hon. treasurer, Mr. A. A. De Costa; executive, Misses H. McKnight and N. Hayes, Messrs. D. W. 'McKeague, J. R. Beckett and D. F. Muir; hon auditor, Mr. J. W. Bain.
