FIVE KILLED

VIOLENT EXPLOSION PENNSYLVANIA TRAGEDY POWDER FACTORY ENTIRE PLANT RAZED (Reed. Oct. 19. 2.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 18. A terrific explosion shook the National Powder Company’s plant at Eldred, 15 miles from Bradford (Pennsylvania) to-day, and shaking houses. It is reported that five persons were killed. The explosion is reported to have occurred' in the gelatine section at 7.30 a.m., while the majority of the employees were on the way to work. The entire plant, which is small, was destroyed. There is no indication so far of sabotage.
