FOUNDRY WORKER INJURES HAND
Extensive injuries to the right hand were received by a foundry worker, Patrick Whitehead, aged 21, single, of Runanga, in an accident at the Dispatch Foundry, Greymouth, this morning. He was working at a press which was pressing the main drive shaft from the Grey River gold dredge, when a wedge flew out, striking him strongly on the hand. He was taken to the Grey Hospital by ambulance, and his condition this afternoon was described as being satisfactory.
