Sergeant T. Matthews, who has been in charge of the Westport police station for the past five and a half years has received- notice of transfer to Rangiora. No advice has yet been received regarding his successor at Westport. , Mr Harvey Turner, of Auckland, has been appointed a director of Tasman Empire Airways Ltd as one of the two representatives of the British Overseas Airways Corporation, in succession to Mr J. N. Greenland, who recently retired from the board owing to pressure of other business. —(P.A.) Mr C. Lee, of Dobson, will leave tomorrow for Brisbane and he intends to spend some time in Australia. He was bidden farewell this week by members of the Brunner Rugby League Club, on whose behalf a presentation of a travelling companion was made by the president, Mr T. Gutberlet.
